WELCOME FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Welcome to The Ferrers Specialist Arts College.We are a successful 11–18 comprehensive school with a strong, positive reputation in the local community. We have a very pleasant campus comprising single storey buildings in extensive grounds. The main school opened just over 30 years ago but has been substantially extended over the years including the recent specialist Arts block and our Applied Learning Centre with a recording studio and film editing facilities.
Our purpose is to provide all students with a rich, stimulating and enjoyable learning experience through which they can achieve success. We are very pleased that our exam results for the summer of 2012 were the best the school has ever recorded and is a great testament to the hard work of the students and their teachers throughout the year.
Our curriculum is designed to balance a strong core with a range of additional subjects to provide students with a relevant, appropriate combination of courses which will support their success. We believe strongly in the additional opportunities school can provide and we offer a wide range of activities so all students can find an area in which they can excel; academically, in the arts, in sport and within the wider school community.
We have very high expectations of our students in their work and behaviour. We have an orderly, supportive community atmosphere in which polite, civilised and respectful behaviour is expected at all times. We are proud of our school and want our students to be proud of all their achievements while they are with us. We want every student who comes here, and every parent who entrusts their child’s education to us, to feel they have made the right choice in making The Ferrers their secondary school.
